How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • Grease 3 large baking sheets.
  • In a large bowl combine oats, flour, sugar, coconut, baking soda and salt then set aside.
  • In a small saucepan combine butter and syrup.
  • Place over medium heat and stir until butter is melted.
  • Pour into the flour mixture and stir to combine.
  • Gather dough by well rounded teaspoons.
  • The dough will be very crumbly so you will need to use your fingers to lightly pack dough into the spoon.
  • Invert mounds of dough 1-1/2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets shaping with you fingers as needed.
  • Bake 10 minutes then remove from oven and let stand in baking sheets for 3 minutes.
  • Cool on wire racks.
