How to make it

  • Add sugar to milk & stir until dissolved. Add lemon juice & salt. Sprinkle gelatin on cold water & put in top part of a small double-boiler. In bottom part of double boiler bring small amount of water to boil.Place top on bottom of double-boiler & stir until gelatin mixture is completely dissolved. Add to sugar, milk & lemon juice mixture. Add Creme de Menthe & stir very well. Put mixture in a metal loaf pan & place in freezer until it is frozen to a mush. Place this mush in a bowl & whip, then place back into loaf pan & freeze until fairly firm. Whip again & re-freeze until completely firm. Serve over watermelon or honeydew balls in sherbet glasses or serve plain, without fruit, topped with mint sprigs in parfait glasses.
