How to make it

  • In large mixing bowl combine flour, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg, salt and oats.
  • Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or table knives until particles are very fine.
  • Add cranberries and brown sugar then mix until well blended then cover and chill 1 hour.
  • Roll out dough to 1/4" thickness and cut into 3" rounds.
  • Bake on greased cookie sheets at 375 for 15 minutes then cool.
