How to make it

  • Cook as much or as little SPAM as you like. I cubed it up before cooking.
  • Mix Bisquick, eggs and milk together to make pancake batter.
  • Add cooked SPAM to pancake batter.
  • Cook pancakes as you normally would.
  • Butter and syrup to taste.
  • Like I said this is a work in progress. I thought next time I may use slices of SPAM cooked, then coated in the batter and cooked as normal.
  • I really liked the way the saltiness of the SPAM came through to cut the sweetness of the syrup. Would be interested to know if anyone else is willing to try this? HAHA! Enjoy!

Wow--I haven't had SPAM (other than the email variety) in years!! I used to go primitive camping with my parents and SPAM was one way of having meat when you didn't have much refrigeration space. Spam and fried eggs--a memory from the past. Thanks for bringing up a childhood memory for me--you made my day!!!
