Tuna New Orleans 1960s Clipping Recipe
Another of my mother's clippings. It calls for a "family size" can of tuna, which was 9 ounces at that time.

Ingredients
  • 1 small tomato, cut in quarters
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 6 ounce can mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 9 ounces canned tuna
  • Hot cooked rice

Directions
  1. Saute the tomato pieces, green pepper, mushrooms and onion in the butter for 5 minutes.
  2. Add cream of celery soup and heat for 5 minutes.
  3. Add tuna and heat for 2 more minutes.
  4. Serve over hot rice.
  5. Garnish with the tomato pieces or additional tomato.
