Broccoli Orange Salad

Light, fruity, refreshing salad for hot summer days - I take this to potlucks and picnics often and the bowl is licked clean. Its also a favorite of my family. From my Kansas cooking buddy.
Ingredients
- Dressing: shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- ¼ c. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard shopping list
- ½ tsp. cornstarch shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. water shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. sour cream shopping list
- 1 ½ Tbsp. butter shopping list
- Combine for the salad: shopping list
- 4 c. broccoli flowerets shopping list
- 1 c. salted cashews shopping list
- 1 c. cubed swiss cheese shopping list
- 1 can drained mandarin oranges shopping list
- ½ c. chopped craisins/ dried cranberries (can use raisins) shopping list
- 6 strips bacon, cooked crisply and crumbled shopping list
- ½ c. chopped red onion shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the egg, sugar, mustard and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the vinegar and water and cook until thickened. Remove from the heat.
- Stir in the mayo, sour cream and butter. Set aside to cool.
- Place salad ingredients in a large bowl and toss.
- Just before serving, add the dressing and toss to coat.
