Aunt Carols Amaretto Cake

- cake shopping list
- 1 package yellow cake mix shopping list
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1/3 cup Amaretto shopping list
- 1/2 cup oil shopping list
- 1/3 cup finely chopped almonds shopping list
- glaze shopping list
- 4 tbsp. butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup Amaretto shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Grease and flour tube pan. Cover bottom of pan with finely chopped almonds.
- 2. Stir together cake mix and dry vanilla pudding. Beat in eggs, oil, and Amaretto, stirring just until batter is smooth. Pout batter over nuts and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool in pan. (Leave the cake in the pan.)
- 3. Place butter, 1/4 cup Amaretto, and brown sugar in pan and bring to a boil, stirring. Remove from heat. Poke holes in top of cake and spoon glaze over the top until absorbed.
- 4. Allow to cool, transfer to cake dish, let sit overnight before serving.
