Maryland Apple French Toast

- 1 loaf French bread shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup shopping list
- 3 granny smith cooking apples shopping list
- 7 eggs shopping list
- 1-3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- In medium sauce pan melt butter then add brown sugar and corn syrup.
- Cook on medium high heat until brown sugar is melted about 10 minutes.
- Pour mixture into rectangular baking dish and spread to cover bottom of dish.
- Quarter apples then peel and slice to about 1/8” then place apple slices on top of mixture.
- Make sure to cover the entire bottom of dish.
- Cut bread into 1/2" slices then cut slices into fourths then place on top of apples
- Whip eggs until all yolks are broken then add vanilla and milk and whip together.
- Pour over bread making sure that all pieces are soaked.
- Place plastic wrap over dish to tightly cover then put in refrigerator overnight.
- Next morning remove plastic wrap and place dish in 350 oven for 45 minutes or until brown.
- Serve warm and make sure to flip over to have the syrup on the bottom cover the bread.
