- 2 leeks(1-1/4 lb.) shopping list
- 1 Medium onion,chopped(1cup) shopping list
- 4 teaspoons instant chicken bouillon granules shopping list
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1-1/2 Cups instant potato flakes shopping list
- 2-1/3 Cups milk shopping list
- 1 Cup whipping cream shopping list
- Snipped chives shopping list
How to make it
- Chop white part of leeks.
- In large saucepan,mix leeks,onion,water,bouillon granules and salt.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat,cover and simmer 10 minutes.
- Pour mixture into blender container.
- Add potato flakes and 2/3 cup milk,cover and blend on high until smooth.
- Pour into a large bowl,stir in remaining 1-2/3 cups milk and whipping cream.
- Force mixture through a fine sieve.
- Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
- Serve cold with a sprinkling of chives.
- Serves 8
