Bannock Recipe
Easy bannock recipe that works with sandwiches or soup/stew. All my family loves it!

Ingredients
  • 3 cups of flour (your choice of flour)
  • 6 tspn baking powder
  • 1/2 tspn salt
  • 2 tblsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup lard
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup luke warm water
  • EXTRA flour for the needing

Directions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 200° C = 400° F
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl
  3. continue with mashing up lard into dry ingredience (until well broken up)
  4. In a measuring cup, measure out 1 cup luke wram water and crack both eggs into it.
  5. Mix the water and eggs together.
  6. Make a bowl in the flour and pour water/eggs mix into it.
  7. Start to fold over the flour into the wet mix until all dry ingredience are gone.
  8. scoop the dough out onto a hard surface, making sure it is well covered with extra flour.
  9. Continue with needing until dough is soft and no longer sticky (keep adding more flour until it no longer sticks)
  10. Roll out with a rolling pin to fit the baking sheet.
  11. place on bakinig sheet and poke with w fork all over.
  12. Place in over and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  13. Take out of oven and brush with butter or anything of your choice.
  14. Cut or rip and serve.

It does seem like a lot of work, but it's not. It's pretty easy. I can do everything within 40 minutes.

Alterations


If you want to, you can also use butter/margarine as a substitute for lard


Oh yes, if you have the time as well. Make bannock and a big pot of stew. It's heavenly!
