Beef Moussaka  Greek Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (14oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tps. salt
  • 1/8 tps. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tps. black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cooked
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese

Directions
  1. 1- Brown meat and onion in large saucepan. Add tomato sauce and seasoninge. Bring to a boil and simmer, covered for about 20 minutes
  2. 2- Slice cooked potatoes about 1/4 inch thick; arrange half of them in greased casserole. Cover with meat / tomato sauce mixture and top with rest of potatoes.
  3. 3- Beat eggs and milk together and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in 350F oven for about 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
