Herbed Rice Recipe
Aromatic basmati rice is enhanced with the addition of fresh/dried herbs. Make a great side to meat dishes.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup white basmati rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • pinch salt

Directions
  1. Add oil or butter to a pan over medium high heat.
  2. Measure rice into pan and stir to coat with melted butter/oil.
  3. Add herbs, pepper and salt, and water. Turn up heat to bring to a boil.
  4. Cover with tight fitting lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes (or follow recommended directions on package of rice.)
  5. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir to make sure herbs are evenly distributed before serving.
