How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Split squash in half lengthwise, and clean out seeds.
  • Place squash cut side down in a baking pan with about 2 1/2" of water.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 90 minutes, adding water as needed to pan.
  • Remove sqaush from pan and empty any water left in it.
  • Replace squash in the pan cut side up, and shred the sqash with a fork.
  • Leave the shredded "spaghetti" in the shell.
  • Add enough brown sugar to cover all the squash.
  • Dot the squash with butter and cover the tops with the cheddar.
  • Return to the oven and bake until the cheese is completely melted and the sugar bubbles through a bit.
  • Serve.
