Beef Malaysian Style Recipe
Very tasty beef dish, not spicy but very tasty best serve with boiled rice

Ingredients
  • 750gm topside steak cut into 2.5cm cubes
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon clove powder
  • Salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 large onion, cut into 1.5cm slices
  • Thing slice ginger root shredded
  • 1 tablespoon chilli sauce (optional)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Leaves of 3 shallots chopped
  • ½ cucumber, peeled and diced.

Directions
  1. Put beef in a bowl. Add white pepper, cinnamon, clove powder, salt to taste and sugar and mix well. Heat oil in a large pan, add onion and fry until lightly browned.
  2. Add ginger, seasoned beef, chilli sauce and water and mix well. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 1 hour or until meat is tender. Remove lid and add soy sauce and fry until gravy is thick.
  3. Add shallot leaves and cucumber, mix well and serve with rice and salad.
