Beef Malaysian Style

- 750gm topside steak cut into 2.5cm cubes shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon white pepper shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon clove powder shopping list
- salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil shopping list
- 1 large onion, cut into 1.5cm slices shopping list
- Thing slice ginger root shredded shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chilli sauce (optional) shopping list
- ¼ cup water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce shopping list
- Leaves of 3 shallots chopped shopping list
- ½ cucumber, peeled and diced. shopping list
How to make it
- Put beef in a bowl. Add white pepper, cinnamon, clove powder, salt to taste and sugar and mix well. Heat oil in a large pan, add onion and fry until lightly browned.
- Add ginger, seasoned beef, chilli sauce and water and mix well. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 1 hour or until meat is tender. Remove lid and add soy sauce and fry until gravy is thick.
- Add shallot leaves and cucumber, mix well and serve with rice and salad.
