For those of you who don't know what clover leaf rolls are, they are the ones that, once baked, come out looking almost exactly like chef hats. Not all brands will call them by this name. In fact most of them still call them simple dinner rolls. Read more If you think about it for a moment you will remembr as close as only a few years ago, they were still the most popular shaped roll to serve in restaurants with main entrees. They puff up in 3 sections on top while baking. You can usually find them in the fresh breads section. They are not refrigerator rolls. See less
Ingredients
- 8 clover leaf rolls shopping list
- 4 hard cooked eggs shopping list
- 4 oz shredded American cheese shopping list
- 4 table spoons of mixed sweet pickle relish, fine chopped celery and chopped green bell pepper shopping list
- 4 table spoons ranch dressing ( more if desired ) shopping list
How to make it
- Use a sharp knife to slice rolls in half horizontally. Carefully scoop out the center of each half to create a large enough hole to fill with the egg mixture. Mix the eggs, relish mix and shredded cheese. Stir the Ranch into it. Fill each half as much as possible and put the tops back on. Voila ! It becomes a Chef Hat Sandwich.
