Anisette Cookies
From docjoe 16 years agoIngredients
- 1/4 cup Anisette shopping list
- 1 Tbl. anise seed (no substitutes, see note below) shopping list
- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- I/2 pound butter, melted and cooled shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- confectioners sugar shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl combine the sugar, butter, sour cream, anisette, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
- In a second bowl combine the flour, anise seed, baking powder and baking soda, mix well to distribute the seeds.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix very well.
- Cover and refrigerate over night.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Pinch off ping pong ball sized pieces of dough (I use a #30 scoop to make the cookies), and roll in the confectioners sugar.
- Note: the cold dough will sweat and melt the sugar...(don't worry).
- After having made and rolled all the cookies, roll them a second time in the confectioners sugar.
- Place cookies on an ungreased cooky sheet about an inch apart.
- Bake until slightly golden (pale color), about 20 - 30 minutes.
- Roll a third time in confectioners sugar while still warm.
- Let cool and serve.
