Spaetzle Homemade Noodles Recipe
This tear drop pasta is simple and quick to make and tastes wonderful served with pork roast, red cabbage and gravy.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • cold water as needed
  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions
  1. Put flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour eggs and 1/4 cup cold water into flour mixture. Beat with a wooden spoon, adding more water as needed, until mixture shows air bubbles. Dough should be slightly sticky, yet elastic.
  2. Using a spaetzle machinine or colander with medium holes, press noodles into a large pot of boiling, salted water. Repeat process until all the dough is used.
  3. Cook noodles about 5 minutes or until they rise to the top. Watch that they don't boil over. Drain noodles in a colander, and run cold water over them. I place a clean dish cloth over a cookie sheet and let the noodles cool dry slightly.
  4. Melt butter in frying pan and brown noodles in butter.
