Cherry filled sponge roll

- Cherry filled sponge roll shopping list
- This is a delicious sponge cake roll recipe that melts in your mouth made with cherries and fashioned as a jelly roll cake shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 ½ cups sugar shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 tsp almond extract shopping list
- 2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- ½ tsp salt shopping list
- 2 cups cherry pie filling or frozen cherries chopped shopping list
- 2 cups whipped cream shopping list
- To begin you will beat the eggs in a large mixing bowl adding the sugar and beating this mixture until it becomes light and thick. Once this has happened you can add the almond extract. shopping list
- Next you will add the flour, salt and baking powder. Once this has been incorporated add some boiling water about 1 cup to 1 ½ cups should do. Once this is mixed lightly grease a jelly roll pan and line it with aluminum foil and spread butter on the foil. shopping list
- Now take the mixture of batter and spread into the foil lined jelly roll pan. Bake this in a 400 degree pre-heated oven until the cake is lightly browned or the cake springs back when touched. shopping list
- Remove the cake carefully from the pan and take to the table where you will gently roll it in confectioners sugar coating it all. Once it is all covered with the confectioners sugar frost with the whipped creams and garnish with shavings of chocolate or peppermint leaves or both. shopping list
