A spicy version of simple tartar sauce

Ingredients
  • 3 T dill pickle or substitute dill relish
  • 1 ½ t capers
  • ½ small sweet onion
  • 1 t dill
  • ½ t balsamic vinegar
  • ½ t Dijon mustard
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • ¼ t red pepper flakes
  • ½ jalapeno pepper, fresh or pickled,
  • 1 t garlic, about 3 cloves or to taste
  • 1 chipotle chile with 1 t adobo sauce
  • ½ c cabbage
  • 2-3 anchovies
  • 2 t cilantro
  • ½ c mayonnaise or less, to taste

Directions
  1. Combine all the ingredients except mayonnaise in a food processor and pulse a few times for JUST a few seconds.
  2. Add the mayonnaise and process a few seconds more to blend well.
  3. Refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to blend. If you find this too thin, add more minced cabbage.
  4. This sauce is super flavorful and goes well with fish and seafood.
