Chicken With Honey And Apple Glaze Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10-12 (5-12 lbs.) chicken legs and thighs
  • 2 cups apple juice or apple cider
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled, coarsely chopped or minced
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger or a few slices of fresh ginger, mashed with the blade of a knife.
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper, freshly ground
  • 1/4 cup honey

Directions
  1. In a large re-sealable bag, combine chicken, apple juice/apple cider, garlic, ginger and pepper.
  2. Note: Sometimes I add 1/4 cup of low sodium soy sauce to the marinade.
  3. Close bag, set in a bowl to chill in the fridge for at least 10-12 hours, turning occasionally.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade.
  5. The chicken can be baked in a 375 F oven for 60 minutes or barbecued, until meat is no longer pink and juices run clear.
  6. Brush chicken with honey.
  7. Cook turning as needed for 4 minutes longer.
  8. Serves 6
