Scotch Scones
From pamela 17 years agoIngredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar, white shopping list
- 3/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- salt shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in the butter by rubbing the mixture between your fingers until it is fine and crumbly; then add in the raisins. Now, mix together the egg and milk in a small bowl then combine with the dry ingredients and form a soft dough. Roll the dough to 1/4 inch in thickness, on a lightly floured surface, then dip a cutter into flour, and stamp out your scones. (You might need to re-roll the dough to get the full 12). Now, on medium setting, heat a dry, non-stick griddle. Finally, cook each side until it is slightly raised and turns a golden brown. Transfer the scones to a wire rack; cool.
