  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped (or shredded) carrot
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 8 ounces lean ground beef
  • 1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes in puree
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasonings
  • 1/2 teaspoon beef bouillon
  • 1 (9-ounce) package linguine

Directions
  1. Heat olive oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onion, celery, carrot, and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes or until tender.
  3. Add beef; cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 5 minutes or until beef is no longer pink.
  4. Stir in tomatoes with juice, water, wine, Italian seasonings and bouillon; bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes or until flavors are blended.
  6. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
  7. Serve sauce over pasta.
