Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 1 package (10 oz. about 40) regular marshmallows
  • - or -
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies®
  • Prepared frosting for decoration
  • Small round cookie cutter

Directions
  1. In a large microwave safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.
  2. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add RICE KRISPIES cereal.
  4. Stir until well coated.
  5. Using spatula sprayed with cooking spray or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan coated with cooking spray.
  6. Allow mixture to cool slightly.
  7. Make caterpillar sections, using small round cookie cutter, cut cereal mixture into circles.
  8. Place eight to nine circles next to each other to form caterpillar. Decorate with frosting to make antenna, eyes, feet and spots on caterpillars.
  9. Best if served the same day.
  10. Microwave cooking times may vary.
  11. CONVENTIONAL DIRECTIONS:
  12. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat.
  13. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  14. Remove from heat.
  15. Follow steps 2 through 4 above.
  16. Note
  17. For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
  18. 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.
  19. Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.
