How to make it

  • combine the ingredients for the dumplings in a bowl
  • mix the butter with the dry mixture until crumbly. add the soy milk,stirring intil moistened. add more soy as needed if mixture is to dry
  • knead the dough for 30 seconds on a well floured surface, then roll out to a 1/8 inch thickness and cut into 1/2 inch squares
  • place the butter,onion and celery for the soup in a large sauce pan
  • and saute till the veggies are soft
  • add the flour and salt an pepper to make a thick paste, slowly mix in the broth and bring to a boil,add the carrots,chicken,and bay leaf.
  • add the dumpling squares one at a time,stirring gently, reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes stir often

    Chicken and Dumplings, That's just good ol' comfort food! Have never been able to get the same results as Granny's but that's the case with alot or recipes. I make a recipe and actually use cut tortillas for the dumplings and it's great they are just like dumplings.I share it with you. Great post! 5!
