Chinese Steamed Fish Recipe
Sometimes you come home from work and just want something good in a hurry. For those days, this workd well. Works perfect in an electric steamer - I love mine!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. Fish (white and mild such as Halibut, Cod, Sole)
  • 3 Green Onions (cut into 3 inch lengths)
  • 2 fresh Mushrooms, sliced
  • 6 leaves Napa cabbage, sliced into 4 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts (optional but yummy)
  • 2 slices fresh ginger root, finely chopped (Note: I buy my ginger from the market, chop it up using my food processor, put in a jar, and then refrigerate it so I can use it just like I would garlic when I cook.)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1/8 cup Water
  • Crushed Red Pepper flakes or cayenne Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh Cilantro, for presentation

Directions
  1. Arrange 1/2 of the green onions on the bottom of the steaming bowl. Place 1/2 of the mushrooms and Napa cabbage sections on top.
  2. Place the fish on top of the vegetables.
  3. Sprinkle ginger, garlic, and red pepper over the fish.
  4. Top with the remaining green onions, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and napa cabbage.
  5. Drizzle with the soy sauce ad water.
  6. Steam for 15-20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily.
  7. Serve over cooked rice.
  8. Enjoy!
