Tomato sweet chutney

- Tomato- 5 Medium and fully ripe shopping list
- sugar – 3tbsp shopping list
- turmeric powder shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- oil to fry -1 tbsp shopping list
- mustard seed ½ tsp shopping list
- cumin powder 1tsp shopping list
- coriander powder – ½ tsp shopping list
- cinnamon powder – 1/2tsp shopping list
- Dry red chilli – 1 shopping list
- Bay leaf – 2 no shopping list
- water – 1 cup shopping list
How to make it
- Wash the tomatoes. Blanch with warm water to take out the skin .Discard the seed portion and chop in to medium sized pieces.
- Heat oil in pan and temper with mustard seed an dry chilli.
- When it gets fried add the cut tomatoes. Fry for some time. When it turns soft add salt, turmeric powder mix it thoroughly & fry for 1 min and add cumin powder, coriander powder, cinnamon powder and the bay leaf.
- Add sugar and mix it and let it cook for some time. If you want it to make too saucy then add sugar ( you can adjust the sweetness according to your taste bud) in to 1 cup hot water and add it to the cooked tomato and cook for 5 mins till pulp is fully cooked.
- Turn off the gas
- Before serving take out the bay leaf and the red chilli.
- It can be taken with Rice, roti and even as spread in breads!!
