Tomato Sweet Chutney Recipe

Ingredients
  • Tomato- 5 Medium and fully ripe
  • Sugar – 3tbsp
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry -1 tbsp
  • Mustard seed ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder 1tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon powder – 1/2tsp
  • Dry red chilli – 1
  • Bay leaf – 2 no
  • Water – 1 cup

Directions
  1. Wash the tomatoes. Blanch with warm water to take out the skin .Discard the seed portion and chop in to medium sized pieces.
  2. Heat oil in pan and temper with mustard seed an dry chilli.
  3. When it gets fried add the cut tomatoes. Fry for some time. When it turns soft add salt, turmeric powder mix it thoroughly & fry for 1 min and add cumin powder, coriander powder, cinnamon powder and the bay leaf.
  4. Add sugar and mix it and let it cook for some time. If you want it to make too saucy then add sugar ( you can adjust the sweetness according to your taste bud) in to 1 cup hot water and add it to the cooked tomato and cook for 5 mins till pulp is fully cooked.
  5. Turn off the gas
  6. Before serving take out the bay leaf and the red chilli.
  7. It can be taken with Rice, roti and even as spread in breads!!
