Ingredients
  • 4. c. quick-cooking or old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 to 1 c. wheat germ
  • 2 Tbsps. sesame seed (statement from the writer of this recipe, the coconut, sesame seed and raisins are all optional additions, but good. Nuts may also be added)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 1 c. coconut
  • 1/2 c. seedless raisins
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. lecithin (optional)
  • 2/3 c. melted butter or margarine

Directions
  1. Mix first 7 ingredients.
  2. Mix brown sugar and honey with lecithin (if used) and melted margarine.
  3. Add to the first mixture and mix until crumbly.
  4. Place in shallow ungreased jelly-roll pan.
  5. Do not pack down.
  6. Toast in moderate oven (350) 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Cool 15 minutes, then toss with fork to form crumbs.
  8. Store in covered jar in refrigerator; use as needed, as cereal or topping for ice cream, pudding, baked desserts.

SUPERB recipe!! Granola bars bought in the stores are so expensive, and not all that good. THIS, however, sounds great. A MUST-KEEP! FIVE :+D
