I wanted a beef tip recipe, but don't care for the traditional cream soup type, so played with the concept until I came up with this tasty recipe.

Ingredients
  • 2 to 3 lbs of sirloin or sirloin tip steak, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 1 can cream of onion soup
  • 1/4 cup red cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup water or beef broth
  • Noodles cooked according to package directions

Directions
  1. Heat oil in large skillet
  2. Add beef cubes and brown
  3. Add onions to meat mixture just before meat is ready to remove and cook until onions are tender
  4. Remove meat mixture and place in slow cooker
  5. Add butter and mushrooms to skillet and cook over medium heat until soft
  6. Add mushrooms to slow cooker
  7. Put soup, wine and worcestershire sauce in skillet and stir to mix.
  8. Heat and add to slow cooker.
  9. Stir to mix all ingredients. Add water to desired consistency.
  10. Cook on low for 4 hours.
  11. Serve over noodles.
