This sounds like another Christmas recipe.
Ingredients
- Pastry: shopping list
- 2 1/4 c. flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2/3 c. Crisco shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. butter shopping list
- ===================================================== shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 c. currants shopping list
- 1 c. raisins shopping list
- 2 apples, grated shopping list
- 1 tsp. connamon shopping list
- 1 tsp lemon extract shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. butter shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. milk shopping list
How to make it
- Blend pastry ingredients, using 5 Tablespoons cold water to bind.
- Line 9 x 13 pan with 1/2 of pastry.
- Mix all filling ingredients together, saving a small amount of egg and milk mixture.
- Spread filling on pastry.
- Spread rest of pastry on top of filling.
- Prick top with a fork.
- Brush with egg-milk mixture.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar (small amount) on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
- Cool.
- Cut into squares.
