Tomato Florentine Pasta Bake

- 1/2 lb.ground turkey shopping list
- 1/2 C.finely chopped onion shopping list
- 1 (15oz) can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 (6oz) can tomato paste shopping list
- 1/2 C.water shopping list
- 2 1/4 tsp.oregano leaves shopping list
- 2 tsp.sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp.ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp.garlic powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp.crushed red pepper flakes shopping list
- 2 c.uncooked penne pasta shopping list
- 1 pkg (10oz) frozen chopped spinach (thawed,drained and squeezed dry) shopping list
- 1 1/2 C.part-skim ricotta cheese shopping list
- 1/2 C.shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cook turkey and onion in large skillet on medium heat until no longer pink.
- Stir in tomato sauce,paste,water and all seasonings.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low,then simmer for 10 minutes,stirring occasionally.
- Boil pasta according to directions on package,drain well.
- Stir pasta and well-drained spinach into sauce until well mixed.
- Spread 1/2 of the pasta mixture into a 11x7 baking dish.
- Spread ricotta cheese over pasta.
- Top with remaining pasta mixture.
- Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 15 minutes,or until heated through.
- Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
- Makes 6 cups.
- *Serve with warm sourdough rolls and tossed green salad.
