Ingredients
  • 1 small container of small curd cottage cheese (use lowfat if your watching calories and fat)
  • 1 small carton of cool whip (again, low fat or no fat if desired)
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple; well drained
  • 1 small can mandarin oranges; well drained
  • 1/2 package of small box of jello (I use lime or raspberry)

Directions
  1. Add the jello with the cool whip and stir well until completely mixed together.
  2. Add cottage cheese and fruit; fold in gently.
  3. Refrigerate and chill for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Note: Fruit and jello varieties can be varied to suit your taste.

Great recipe, been making it for years. Got the recipe from a former co-worker. I usually make it with orange jello.

YUM! This has been a family favorite for as long as i can remember but we call it "Green Garbage". We use lime jello and for fruit we add fresh banana and stawberries and a can of fruit cocktail. We also top it off with marachino cherries. We let the kids make this one since there is very little 'cooking' required!
