Chicken and Dressing Casserole

- 4 cups cubed cooked chicken or turkey shopping list
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- salt and pepper, to taste shopping list
- Dressing: shopping list
- 2 celery ribs, chopped shopping list
- 1 small onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. margarine shopping list
- 1 tsp. rubbed sage shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 2 cups unseasoned stuffing cubes, crushed shopping list
- 2 cups coarsely crumbled corn bread shopping list
- 1/2 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- Gravy: shopping list
- 1/4 cup margarine shopping list
- 6 Tbsp. all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups chicken broth shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Place chicken in a greased 2-quart baking dish; set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine the flour, broth and milk until smooth.
- Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon over chicken.
- In a large skillet, saute celery and onion in margarine until tender.
- Stir in seasonings.
- Remove from the heat; add the stuffing cubes, corn bread, broth and egg.
- Mix well.
- Spoon over chicken mixture. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until a thermometer inserted near the center reaches 160 degrees.
- For gravy, melt margarine in a small saucepan.
- Stir in flour until smooth; gradually add broth and milk.
- Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Serve with chicken and dressing.
