How to make it

  • Mix cornstarch and sugar.
  • Add boiling water.
  • Cook, stirring constantly until thick and clear.
  • Add salt to egg whites.
  • Beat until stiff, add vanilla and 2 teaspoons sugar and beat until creamy.
  • Pour into hot cornstarch mixture.
  • Add coconut.
  • Pour into baked pie shell and chill.
