Apple Cider Pound Cake

- 1 cup butter or oleo, softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 6 eggs shopping list
- 3 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves shopping list
- 1 cup apple cider shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
- Combine butter and shortening, mixing well; gradually add sugar, continuing to beat. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. shopping list
- Combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed misture alternately with apple cider, beginning and ending with flour mixure. Mix well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. shopping list
- Pour batter into a well greased 10 inch tube (or bundt) pan. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour and fifty minutes or until cake tests done. Check after 1 hr 35 minutes. Cool in pan 10-15 minutes; remove and cool completely on a wire rack. shopping list
- Can be glazed with a simple powdered sugar/milk glaze or eaten plain. shopping list
