How to make it

  • Drain the mandarin oranges but reserve the juice.
  • In a pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat and then add in the orange segments. Add in the sugar and cinnamon and saute until orange segments begin to caramelize. (they may fall apart a bit, but that is ok! the flavours are being released here, so no worries...)
  • Turn the heat to high and then add in the reserved orange juice. Bring it to a boil and allow the mixture to reduce it's volume by 1/2. (this takes about 5-8 minutes)
  • Scoop vanilla icecream into individual bowls and spoon warm sauce over top. Garnish w/ a sprig of mint. :-)
  • ENJOY!
