This is a simple and very basic recipe to make cake. My husband enjoys the simple yet yum taste!!

Ingredients
  • All purpose flour-1n1/2 cups
  • Sugar-1 n 1/2 cups
  • Eggs-5
  • Butter-100gm
  • Baking powder-1 n 1/4 tsp
  • Milk-1/4 cup
  • Vanilla essence- around a tsp
  • Raisins-100gms or as required
  • Cashews- 100 gms or as required (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees
  2. Separate the whites and the yokes of the eggs
  3. Add milk to the whites and beat well.Keep Aside.
  4. Beat the yokes well separately.Keep Aside.
  5. Use a spoon and mix the sugar with the flour in a bowl.
  6. Add Baking powder and mix well.
  7. Melt butter and mix well with the flour.
  8. Pour the egg white mix and beat with a hand blender.
  9. Add the yokes and beat again till smooth.
  10. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.
  11. Add the raisins and cashews and beat once again.
  12. Grease the baking dish with butter,sprinkle some flour and then pour the mixture into the dish.
  13. Stir well with a spoon to ensure the raisins dont sink to the bottom.
  14. Level it and then bake at 180 degrees.Normally it takes about 25-30mins.
  15. Perform the regular toothpick test to check if the cake is done.
