Beef Barley Meatloaf Recipe
BEEF BARLEY MEATLOAF This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Michel Estate in Terrell, Texas in 1996.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 pound fresh mushrooms
  • 2 cans condensed scotch broth
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 teaspoon her and spice blend
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions
  1. Slice mushrooms and set aside.
  2. Strain barley mixture from scotch broth reserving broth.
  3. In large bowl combine barley mixture with beef and next 6 ingredients then shape into loaf.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 then place meat loaf in baking pan.
  5. Top with mushrooms and reserved stock then bake 1 hour and let sit 10 minutes before slicing.
