Ingredients
  • Ready for the table in 30 minutes.
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs

Directions
  1. Measure oil, cocoa and water into saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Measure flour and sugar into mixing bowl and blend.
  3. Pour oil mixture into flour mixture and mix well.
  4. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and soda and mix again.
  5. Turn into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch sheet cake pan and bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
  6. While the cake is baking, mix the icing. Bring to a boil 1 stick oleo, 1/4 cup cocoa, 6 Tablespoons milk.
  7. Remove from stove, stir in 1 lb. powdered sugar, 1/2 cup nuts, and teaspoon vanilla.
  8. Spread over warm cake.
