How to make it

  • Measure oil, cocoa and water into saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Measure flour and sugar into mixing bowl and blend.
  • Pour oil mixture into flour mixture and mix well.
  • Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and soda and mix again.
  • Turn into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch sheet cake pan and bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
  • While the cake is baking, mix the icing. Bring to a boil 1 stick oleo, 1/4 cup cocoa, 6 Tablespoons milk.
  • Remove from stove, stir in 1 lb. powdered sugar, 1/2 cup nuts, and teaspoon vanilla.
  • Spread over warm cake.
