Plaice With Leek And Bacon Stuffing Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1tbsp oil
  • 1oz butter
  • 1 leek trimmed and chopped
  • 1/2 pint double cream
  • pinch of ground nutmeg
  • salt and pepper
  • 6oz mushrooms
  • 4 rashers bacon
  • 4 plaice fillets
  • 3oz gruyere cheese
  • parsley to garnish

Directions
  1. Pre heat oven to gas 7
  2. Grease a 3 pint shallow ovenproof dish
  3. Heat oil and butter in a frying pan,add leek,mushrooms and bacon
  4. Cover and cook over a low heat for 10 minutes stirrring until tender
  5. Lay the plaice fillets skinned side up on a clean work surface.Divide the leek mixture between the fillets,fold over and place in dish
  6. Season the cream with nutmeg,salt and pepper and pour over the fillets Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 20 minutes until fish is tender.Scatter parsley over the top and serve immediately
