Hickory Nut Cake

- 3 c. flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 c. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 3 tsps. baking soda shopping list
- 2/3 c. butter shopping list
- 1 c. milk shopping list
- 5 egg whites (beaten stiff) shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. hickory nuts shopping list
How to make it
- To flour, add baking powder and salt and sift together 3 times.
- Cream butter thoroughly.
- Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
- Add flour mixture alternately with milk a small amount at a time.
- Beat after each addition until smooth.
- Add vanilla, fold in eggs and nut kernels.
- Bake in 3 layers at 350 degrees.
