Georgia Peach Bread

- 3 cups fresh peaches sliced shopping list
- 6 tablespoons granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup pecans finely chopped shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Place peaches and 6 tablespoons sugar in container of blender or food processor.
- Process until pureed and yields 2-1/4 cups.
- Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon then set aside.
- Combine 1-1/2 cups sugar and shortening and cream well then add eggs and mix well.
- Add peach puree and dry ingredients then mix until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Stir in nuts and vanilla then spoon batter into 2 well greased loaf pans.
- Bake at 350 until done then cool in pan 10 minutes.
- Turn out on rack and let cool completely.
