My Lemon French Toast Recipe
This is how I like to make french toast. We serve it with Rogers Golden Corn syrop.

Ingredients
  • 2 fresh organic eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • pinch of freshly grated nutmeg, about 1/8 tsp
  • zest of 1 small lemon, or about 1/2 of a large one
  • 6 loaf pane italiano, sliced a little thick.

Directions
  1. Crack eggs into a pie plate, grate in nutmeg and lemon zest. Beat well. Add cream, beat again.
  2. Heat a heavy non-stick pan to medium.
  3. Dip two slices of bread in the egg mixture, flip, then let soak until a little mushy.
  4. Let excess egg mixture drip off, and add bread to pan. Cook until golden on one side, then flip and cook until golden.
  5. Keep warm while cooking the rest of the french toast.
  6. Serve warm with butter & golden syrop.

Saturdays are usually pancakes or waffles,but this one may replace tomorrow mornings menu.
