How to make it

  • Crack eggs into a pie plate, grate in nutmeg and lemon zest. Beat well. Add cream, beat again.
  • Heat a heavy non-stick pan to medium.
  • Dip two slices of bread in the egg mixture, flip, then let soak until a little mushy.
  • Let excess egg mixture drip off, and add bread to pan. Cook until golden on one side, then flip and cook until golden.
  • Keep warm while cooking the rest of the french toast.
  • Serve warm with butter & golden syrop.

    Saturdays are usually pancakes or waffles,but this one may replace tomorrow mornings menu.
