Holiday Apricot Raisin Orange Pecan Bread

- 1-1/4 cups (12 ounces) apricot nectar shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups raisins (your choice, golden or dark) shopping list
- 1/3 cup (twelve) dried apricots, cut fine shopping list
- 1 tablespoon fresh grated orange rind shopping list
- 2-3/4 cups flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon Crisco shortening shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- In saucepan, combine apricot nectar, raisins and dried apricots
- Simmer for 5 minutes
- Add grated orange rind
- Let cool
- Sift the flour, soda and salt
- Blend together the Crisco, sugar, egg and evaporated milk
- Add the dry ingredients and the fruit to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients
- Add pecans
- Pour into your favorite *well-greased* pans
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 50 minutes, or until toothpick placed in center comes out clean
- Miniature pans work very well
