Ingredients
  • 3 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 pound chestnuts, roasted, peeled and chopped
  • ¾ pound dried, pitted prunes, soaked overnight in water to cover, drained and chopped
  • ¾ pound bulk pork sausage
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced

Directions
  1. Melt butter or margarine in large skillet over medium heat. Add chestnuts, prunes, apples and sausage; sauté chestnut mixture 12 to 15 minutes or until apples are cooked but not falling apart. Let mixture cool.
  2. Spoon into bird cavity. Cook inside bird.
