How to make it

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain well in colander. Return the pasta to saucepot.
  • Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until it's well browned, stirring frequently to separate meat. Remove the sausage with a slotted spoon. Set aside.
  • Add the butter and garlic to skillet. Cook over medium heat about 2 minutes or until golden.
  • Add the broccoli. Cook for 5 minutes until tender crisp, stirring often. Stir the broth into the skillet. Heat to a boil. Remove from heat.
  • Add the broccoli mixture, sausage and 2 tablespoons cheese to the saucepot. Cook and stir over medium heat for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Serve with the red pepper and additional cheese, if desired.
