This makes a great pass-a-dish dish. I am famous for this recipe. Everyone loves it and it is often requested that I make the baked beans. The funny thing is, I have never tasted them because I don't like baked beans!!

Ingredients
  • 6 slices Beef Fry; cooked and diced
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Onion; 1 med. onion
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans Heinz Vegetarian Baked Beans
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Molasses1 tsp. Ginger
  • 2 Apples; each cut into 16 thin wedges

Directions
  1. In large skillet, fry bacon until partially cooked.
  2. Drain, reserving 2 tbsps. drippings.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover.
  5. Simmer until heated and apple is half way tender.
  6. Put in preheated 350 degree F. oven in a 1 1/2-2 qt. casserole sprayed with PAM.
  7. Put apple slices on top.
  8. Bake for 35-45 mins. or until bubbly and thoroughly heated.
  9. Makes 8 (1/2-cup) servings.
