Ingredients
  • Dad’s German Doodles
  • 4 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 2 ½ Cans Chicken Broth
  • 2 Lbs Bacon Slice cut into cubes
  • 4 Large Onions Dice
  • 2 Tbsp Garlic Mince
  • 1 Can Mushroom (Large ) (Opt)

Directions
  1. 1 Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and
  3. add egg, milk, and butter. Mix by hand.
  4. 2 When all the flour is incorporated and the dough is
  5. Smooth roll out on a floured surface. Cut in desired lengths.
  6. 3 Cook in boiling chicken broth until done (probably about 35 minutes).
  7. Or until done (Make sure you use a very pot)
  8. 4 Fry Bacon and Onions keep grease when Doodles are done put into
  9. The pot and cook at medium heat when done let simmer for 5-10 minutes
  10. Notes: I've started cutting my doodles in squares to make what is
  11. Called dumplings down here. Up north they were just plain doodles.
  12. I usually make a double and sometimes a triple batch
