How to make it

  • Combine eggs, sugar, salt and spices - gradually stir in milk and then pumpkin. Turn into pie shell. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 350 and bake for another 30-35 minutes until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack.
  • NOTE: I use a 10" pie pan (so did Mum) so if you use 10", too, halve again the ingredients. i.e. 3 c. pumpkin instead of 2 c., 3/4 t. cinnamon instead of 1/2 t., etc.
