Peanut Butter Crisscross Cookies Recipe
This recipe is from my mother. She made these cookies when I was a child. I loved them then and I still do today!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Directions
  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in peanut butter.
  4. Sift in dry mixture.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Press with the back of a floured fork to make crisscross.
  7. Bake about 10 minutes.
  8. *For richer cookies I use 2 cups of flour instead of 3.
