ME AND JEREMY HATE THIN PIZZA CRUSTS! so this one isn't :). This is a good, thick, bready pizza dough recipe, that i have now perfected after numerous attempts. We love it. Makes two 9-inch pizzas. (prep time includes rising time)

Ingredients
  • 2 cups plain white flour
  • 8 g dry yeast
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • polenta/cornmeal to sprinkle

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to its lowest temperature.
  2. Combine water and dry ingredients (not cornmeal though).
  3. Knead on a floured surface till smooth.
  4. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes.
  5. * i find an open oven that has been on the lowest setting a good spot *
  6. (get all your pizza toppings ready while youre wating)
  7. When the dough has risen (should be about double in size) punch it down and knead it a bit more.
  8. Preheat oven to 220 celcius.
  9. Divide into two equal portions, roll out into pizza shape and place on your pizza pan/baking tray, that has been sprinkled with cornmeal.
  10. Top with whatever and bake for 15 minutes.
